I have had alot of requests on information about babies/kits and what they look like.
Lionheads do not "look" like a typical lionhead rabbit until they mature. When they are first born they are pretty much bald. Then they start getting their fur in. As they progress, they develop lots of fur every where. It's not until later on that they get their "break", which means the mane stays and the fur from the back of the neck down starts to shorten. We look for a 'definate break' in the wool. The mane around their head is considered the wool. This wool is different than the fur on the rest of their body as it looks crimped. The fur on the rest of their body will be straight.
Although they look "fat" in the last photos, they aren't. That is 3 1/2 inches of fur on their tiny frame body...
